Perry, an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Mississippi State University, wrote that it shouldn’t surprise anyone “that some members of historically Black fraternities and sororities are same gender-loving individuals.” Robert Brown and Nathanael Gay caught fire after holding a crimson-and-cream themed ceremony on Sept. Jet magazine’s sister publication Ebony Magazine published an editorial by Perry following the infamous “Gay Kappa Wedding” video that went viral in October. In an issue that hit newsstands Tuesday, the African-American publication featured Kappa Alpha Psi member Ravi Perry and partner Paris Prince. Jet Magazine has taken steps to feature the first black male couple in their weddings section.
